Here is what she had to say about this fantastic debut CD: The new self-titled Bonrud album is definitely not your average debut album. As I listened to the CD, the one thing that impressed me over and over was not the production, or even the lyrics, but the overall artistry of the music. The clear tenor of David Hendricks is the perfect match for guitarist Paul Bonrud. Both musicians have extensive technical skills, but what really sets their music apart is their creativity ability to express themselves through their music. Trying to decide which songs to highlight was really tough, since I like pretty much the whole album. "Leap of Faith" starts the whole thing off on a high note with a catchy rhythm and an upbeat melody. The clear tones of Paul’s guitar in "The Phoenix" lead into a song with a deceptively mellow rhythm and intense energy. Again the sound of Paul’s guitar draws me into the magic of "Desperate Heart" and "Once in a lifetime," both songs catch a hold of your emotions. "Give me a Chance" and "I’ve Changed" are energetic and fast moving melodic rock songs.
